Mission of the department:

The department carries out propaedeutic activity at the University in the field of theoretical and practical training of students in the field of architectural design, architectural and construction drawing, composition, color science, the fundamentals of engineering geodesy. Another area of ​​training is theoretical and practical courses related to the history of architecture, art, urban design and urban planning. In this area, the department trains bachelors, masters, PhD specialists. The research activity of the department is also connected with theoretical research in the field of history and theory of architecture, including in their regional aspect - the history of architecture in Siberia. Summer internship of students, undergraduates, postgraduate students of the department are also related to educational and practical activities in the field of studying the history of architecture in the Siberian region

Background:

The history of architecture and town planning has become a part of the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts since its foundation in 1989. Since 2016, the department has entered the Department of Architectural Theory and Composition, which was headed by 2016 by Ph.D in Architecture, Professor V.I. Sazonov. Since 1989, the head of the Department has been professor N.P. Jurin, Ph.D in Architecture.

In addition to the main academic work, the faculty actively participates in the educational activities carried out in accordance with the profile of the department at the Preparatory Department, the Faculty of Additional Professional Education, the Studio for Children's Design Creativity. At the department there is a school for training guides on architectural monuments in Novosibirsk. Since 2002 the department has been one of the organizers and a permanent participant of the All-Russian competition of student's author's sketch designs named after V.K. Pavlov, which is held as part of the annual exhibition "SibUvelir." Under the guidance of teachers, students of architectural and artistic-design faculties develop original sketch designs, becoming winners in all categories. The staff of the department was repeatedly awarded with gold medals and letters of gratitude for long-term cooperation and high level of creative training of students.

Research areas of the department:

The department carries out scientific activity in the field of "Theory and History of Architecture and Urban Development". Two scientific schools of the leading research in this direction are functioning at the department: Doctor of Historical Sciences, Ph.D in Architecture, Professor A.G. Gorky, Tumanyk and Ph.D in Architecture, Professor N.P. Jurin. Teachers of the department are the authors of monographs, scientific articles in the field of theory and history of architecture. As a result of the expedition studies conducted by the members of the department, a continuous survey of the Novosibirsk region was carried out to identify, measure and describe architectural monuments. Teachers and students of the department carried out measurements of a number of architectural monuments of Novosibirsk, including the modern building of Novosibirsk State University, the sports hall of the Dynamo complex and a number of churches and residential buildings in Novosibirsk and the districts of the Novosibirsk region.

Research interests - history of architecture of Siberia. Member of numerous scientific expeditions to study the architectural heritage, including the north of Yakutia, where he studied the Church of the Savior of the defunct polar city Zashiversk, now on display at the Historical and Architectural museum in the open air in Akademgorodok. Member of expeditions in the Novosibirsk region, carried out for the certification of the architectural heritage. Member of the Council for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage under the Governor of the Novosibirsk region, member of the Public Council under the Department for State Protection of Cultural Heritage Objects of the Novosibirsk Region, Author of numerous publications on the history of architecture of Siberia.

Blinov is the author of educational manuals, scientific publications, on the history of architecture and urban planning in Western Siberia (Novosibirsk, Kuzbass cities) including publications abroad . Participant of regional, all-Russian and international conferences on the problems of architecture and urban development. He took part in editing the monographs of I.V. Nevzgodin "Constructivism in Novosibirsk architecture" and "Soviet neoclassicism of Novosibirsk architecture", awarded with the diploma "Golden Capital" and the diploma of Russia Architects Association. Gogoleva L.M. participated in the development of scientific projects and working drawings on the industrial site in the town of Kovylkino, the Mordovian Republic, projects for Rybinsk, the Sormovo industrial hub in Nizhny Novgorod. For the development of this project, she awarded a cash prize of the Ministry, and the project was recommended as a reference for the Ministry of Radio Engineering Industry of the USSR. Gogoleva L.M. supervised all the sites of the production association "Vega" in Berdsk, Novosibirsk region.

She took part in professional competitions and has 10 diplomas of 1 degree. Her students take part at scientific conferences and in creative competitions. In regional and all-Russian competitions as a scientific adviser Gudkova T.V. has 11 diplomas of 1 degree, as the head of all-Russian creative competitions - 58 diplomas 1,2,3 degrees and grand prix, in addition - 11 gold medals. She was a member of the jury of the "Delphic Games 2008". She is a scientific adviser of successfully defended master's theses on the following topics: "Stylistic and composition-spatial features of the architecture of minimalism ( late XX- early XXI century)"; "Formation in the architecture of deconstruction"; "Architectural molding on the basis of an organic approach"; "Deactualization of modernist integrity in the works of modern architects-innovators (late XX – early XXI century )"; "New Principles of Formation in the Experimental Architecture (late ХX-early ХХI century )".
