Mission of the Department:

The Department of Monumental and Decorative Art (MDA) is a graduate one on the specialty 54.05.01 "Monumental and decorative art". The department trains specialists in the following qualifications: the artist of monumental and decorative art (painting), the artist of monumental and decorative art (sculpture), the interior design artist.

The goal of professional training is to educate a creative person who is able to solve aesthetic tasks in the field of monumental and decorative art. This ability is based on the knowledge about the decorative properties of materials, the art of composition, the acquired skills of plastic, color and technological means of selling artistic works.

The educational process of the Department of MDA contains special and professional subjects.
The course of study is based on the fundamental study of majors - drawing, painting, sculpture, composition, technology and techniques of monumental decorative painting (fresco, graffito, mosaic, stained glass).
Graduates can realize their knowledge and skills in such areas as: decorating objects of the architectural environment, easel painting, mosaic art, sculpture, teaching fine arts in art schools, colleges and universities. Graduates of this direction are in demand in art studios and public organizations involved in the artistic improvement of the urban environment.

The Department of Monumental and Decorative Art was established in 1993.

On the basis of the Department of Monumental and Decorative Art (MDA) creative workshops for people of different professions who do not have art education or other special training are open. The goal is: the formation of students' skills of mastering decorative and applied techniques, various techniques of painting, drawing. Classes: painting on glass, painting on wood, fresco, art painting in the interior, mosaic, aerography, painting, drawing, decoupage.

2.     Ombysh-Kuznetsov Mikhail Sergeyevich - artist, professor, member of the USSR Artists Association, Russia since 1973, People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2016), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012), Lenin Komsomol Prizewinner (1981), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2004), Novosibirsk Region Governor Prizewinner in the field of culture and art (2006), Honorary Professor of the Nanjing Xiaozhuang Art Institute, has a Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2011). Participates in regional, republican, all-Russian, foreign exhibitions. His works are in the museums and galleries in Russia, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Canada, France, Japan. Teaches the following subjects: academic painting, graduates academic advising.

3.     Ivankin Vadim Viktorovich - artist, professor, member of the USSR Artists Association, Russia since 1989, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2007), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012), Novosibirsk Region Governor Prizewinner in the field of culture and art 2005, 2008. Participates in regional, republican, all-Russian, foreign exhibitions. Teaches the following subjects: academic painting, graduates academic advising.

4.     Martyanov Nikolai Ivanovich - sculptor, professor, member of the USSR Artists Association, Russia since 1985, Honorary Figure of Russian Higher Education (2008), Honorary Figure of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (1999). Member of All-Russian, republican, regional exhibitions. Teaches the following subjects: academic drawing, plastic anatomy, design.

5.     Belenkaya Vera Mikhailovna - graphic artist, associate professor, member of the Russia Artists Association since 2012. Member of All-Union, republican, regional exhibitions. Teaches the following subjects: academic drawing, special drawing.

6.     Grachev Vladimir Pavlovich - sculptor, associate professor, member of the USSR Artists Association, Russia since 1970, Novosibirsk Region Governor Prizewinner in the field of culture and art (2002). Member of All-Russian, republican, regional exhibitions. Teaches the following subjects: academic sculpture.

7.     Vyshinsky Roman Zinovyevich - a senior lecturer, a member of the Creative Union of Artists since 2017. Teaches the following subjects: academic design, design, graduates academic advising.

8.     Konkov Andrey Aleksandrovich - the senior lecturer. Teaches the following subjects: the fundamentals of art production.

9.     Letko Elena Alekseevna - senior lecturer, member of the Artists' Union of Russia, Member of All-Russian, republican, and regional exhibitions.
