A lecture for students and teachers of the Multimedia University in Nusantara (Indonesia) was held

On May 26, 2023 a lecture for students and teachers of the Multimedia University in Nusantara (Indonesia) was held. The lecture about Russian architecture of the XX century was read by the Candidate of Architecture, Professor N.P. Zhurin. The topic was in line with the wishes of the University of Indonesia.

According to the listeners, there is little information on this topic in Indonesia and they would like to learn more about the architecture of a distant country and about the architecture of Siberia.

The lecture covered the following periods: Art Nouveau at the beginning of the 20th century, the Soviet avant-garde in architecture and design at the beginning of the 20-30s, the pre-war and post-war period of 1933-1955, as well as the period of the second Soviet avant-garde of 1950-1970.

At the same time, the lecture considered not only architectural monuments of the European part of the country, but also the architecture of Siberia, which aroused the interest of the audience.

Of particular interest was the decorative "folk" carving in the architecture of Siberia at the beginning of the 20th century, Siberian constructivism and the architecture of the Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
