Mission of the Department:

Formation of students' competencies in accordance with federal state educational standards of higher education in the field of foreign languages and cultures, in order to provide future specialists with the necessary modern knowledge and skills in the field of a foreign language that make them competitive on the labor market.

Background:

In 1994, the Department of «Foreign Languages» was established as part of the Novosibirsk Architectural Institute. From 1994 to the present time - the Department of «Foreign Languages»: until 1996 as part of the Novosibirsk Architectural Institute; from 1996 to 2015 as part of the Novosibirsk State Academy of Architecture and Fine Arts; since 2015 as part of the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts.

Dyachkov Alexey Vasilevich, assistant professor. Since 2008.

Educational activity:

Courses: architecture, urban planning, architectural space design, design, monumental and decorative art.

Disciplines:

Foreign Language, Russian Language and Culture of Speech.

In addition to the academic work provided by the training program, the department conducts work in:

-Additional Foreign Languages Courses (English, German);

-Translating activity (translating of scientific articles, abstracts, letters, documents etc.);

-training students for Unified National Exam in «Russian Language»;

-Organization of a University translation contest «The Best Interpreter».
