In 2016, Faculty of Architecture was renamed for Faculty of Urban Planning and Architecture. The faculty was founded in 1999. Here, intramural graduates are trained in the programs of "Architecture" and "Urban Planning" (bachelor degree level). Highly qualified teachers work at the departments of the faculty, most of them have academic degrees and titles, are members of creative unions (Russia Architects Association, Russia Designers Association, Russia Artists Association).

Annually the best graduation theses of the students are represented to the International review contest of the best graduation projects in architecture and design, where they are awarded with diplomas of MOOSAO, Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, Russia Architects Association, as well as diplomas of other creative unions and public organizations.

General characteristic:

The architect is engaged in the design of residential, industrial and public facilities, develops new ones and optimizes existing space planning decisions.
There are two types of programs in this area: academic bachelor degree level and applied bachelor degree level.

The academic bachelor degree level is focused on scientific and research and teaching professional activity.
A graduate who has mastered the academic bachelor degree level program should be ready for the implementation of such tasks as:
 participation in the development of tasks at the design stage, conducting applied scientific research (pre-design, design, post-design);
visualization and presentation of design solutions, participation in the defense of design materials towards the public, customers and expert bodies;
teaching on education programs of secondary professional education.

The applied bachelor degree level is focused on the practice-oriented, applied professional activity.
A graduate who has mastered the applied bachelor degree level program should be ready for the implementation of such tasks as:
- stage-by-stage development of design solutions and design documentation;
 - participation in author's control;
visualization and presentation of design solutions, participation in the defense of design materials towards the public, customers and expert bodies;
- participation in managing project activities; participation in evaluation and examination of design solutions, facilities being under construction and constructed facilities.

07.03.04 Urban planning

General characteristic:
The profession of urban planner reflects more the urban planning activities of the top-level specialist, who can take charge of the town-forming activity both at the stage of forecasting and designing and at the stage of implementing urban planning projects.

The academic bachelor degree level is focused on scientific and research and teaching professional activity.
A graduate who has mastered the academic bachelor degree level program should be ready for the implementation of such tasks as:
undertaking applied research, substantiation and planning of spatial development of territorial systems;
substantiation of design solutions ensuring sustainable development of territories, protection and use of historical and cultural heritage;
participation in the accompaniment and coordination of project materials towards the public, customers and expert bodies;
Participation in the programs of urban planning education, popularization of urban planning in the society.
For solving professional problems, he must, in particular, possess knowledge of history and theory of urban planning, protection methods and use of historical and cultural heritage sites, reconstruction of valuable buildings, skills in participation in urban planning research, visual landscape analysis, etc.

The applied bachelor degree level is focused on the practice-oriented, applied professional activity.
A graduate who has mastered the applied bachelor degree level program should be ready for the implementation of such tasks as:
development of creative design solutions and design documentation in the field of spatial planning, urban development zoning and planning,
information support and coordination of urban planning plans, programs, projects, management decisions;
visualization and presentation of design solutions;
Control and management of urban planning development of territories, enforceability and legal maintenance of urban planning activity;
participation in the assessment and examination of design solutions for urban development projects.
For solving professional problems, he must, in particular, possess the basics of spatial planning, urban development zoning, planning of territory, architectural design, modeling, prototyping and the ability to participate in the development of design documentation in these fields.
